ALLAGASH RIVER CANOE TRIP (7 night)
(INDIAN STREAM TO ALLAGASH VILLAGE)
Renowned for its beauty and adventures, the Allagash Waterway offers something for everyone. The surrounding forests are home to moose, bobcat, bear, and other wildlife. You may see bald eagles and osprey in the treetops above. The route traveled is a mixture of big lakes and a swift river, offering a wonderful variety of paddling experiences and plenty of opportunities to hone your skills. Two of the many highlights of this adventure will be a visit to Tramway and Locomotives on Eagle Lake, and Allagash Falls - a 40 foot drop of cascading water, which we will portage around later in the trip.

We'll paddle 80 miles of the Allagash Waterway, starting from Indian Stream, and into Eagle Lake, and ending our trip in the small village of Allagash, Maine. This is a 7 night/8 day trip. We'll spend the first half of the trip paddling across the Allagash Headwater Lakes of Eagle and Churchill Lakes. After carrying around Churchill Dam, you'll have the option to run the famous Chase Rapids, the most taxing section of whitewater on the Allagash River, or using the portage service available to all paddlers. The second half of the trip we'll paddle the lower portion of the Allagash, which is mostly river, with several sections of white water and plenty of exciting quick water.
